Daring cardmakers "Tempting Template Tuesday"

This was another lovely sketch to work with and once again I have gone along a musical theme.

CPS # 62 Skettch challenge.

The scan of this card does not do it justice but I think you can get the general idea!

Papertake weekly challenge "Elegant Embossing"

Well this is a wacky card for my wacky brother.....

Ismaki Sketch challenge.....

This was a lovely sketch to work with and I am very pleased with the end result.

Artygirlz # 32~~~~open theme.

I have taken this opportunity to make a birthday card for my sister~in~law.....

I have used a hand made backing paper and a tanda rubber stamp, which I stamped onto plain and patterned paper. I water coloured the plain image and cut the skirt from the patterned image!

My Time To Craft Challenge "Babies"

I kept this one simple using a couple of old favourite rubber stamps and backing paper.

Ironically 10 minutes after I completed this card my son asked me to make one for a friend who had a little girl at the weekend, double whammy time! Take your pick!

Rainbow ladies "MONOTONE RAINBOW COLOURS" challenge----ORANGE

I really enjoyed this challenge as I have used so many different elements in it, orange card, orange ink pad, orange buttons, orange embroidery cotton, orange eyelets and even some orange fibre that was wrapped around a bouquet. It also involved several techniques, rubber stamping punching hand sewing etc.......I wouldn't care but the one thing I cannot tolerate is oranges!

Di Hickman April # 4 challenge sketch.

I was really delighted with this card, amazing how sometimes it all comes together.

Papertake Weekly Challenge "Another Sketch"

This sketch was great for using up scraps, and likewise so is the doll rubber stamp.

C.P.S. # 61 Sketch challenge.

For this sketch I decided to use up some scraps of paper on the background and as the majority of them were musical, I have gone with a music theme.

Ismaki # 16 Sketch challenge.

Yet another lovely sketch from Ismaki this week, again I have gone for strawberries and pastel colours.

Tanda TeaserChallenge "Read all about it!"

I find using "print" from newspapers quite difficult as it is mostly doom and gloom and who wants that on a card......there again to disfigure a book seems sacrilege! I decided in the end on a manly card and used a couple of sheets of printed backing paper along with some car adverts from the local rag and I did find a page from a book that my grand-daughter (bless her) had scribbled in so I did not feel too badly about it. Any way all tied together using my sizzix machine and a type-writer rubber stamp!

Wednesday Stamper Challenge "insects"

Yet another double whammy, a card made for a friends wife with a butterfly and dragonfly.

The central flower is rubber stamped, cut out and decoupaged, while the insects are peel-offs.

Caardvarks Challenge "Black/White +One"

This card is a double whammy as it fits the criteria of the challenge which finishes on 1st May and is also for my niece's 30th birthday, again on the 1st May

Arty Girlz Challenge "Hand made backgrounds"

For this challenge I used some paper toppers from a magazine, but made the backing paper using ink pads, glimmer mist and various small rubber stamps inked in brown.

My Time To Craft Challenge "Tuttie Fruittie"

Well we had a little bit of sunshine today so it was easy to think "Strawberries"......Here is my effort for this challenge.

Daring Cardmakers Challenge "HOT AND SPICY"

For this challenge I nearly photographed my dancing chili pepper (given to me by my future daughter~out~law who said it reminded her of me ((he sings feeling hot hot hot and my being of a certain age I do like wise)). Any way instead I opted for hot and spicy colours and was quite pleased with the end result.

My Time To Craft "framed" challenge.

I found this adorable fish wrapping paper and just had to show it off. It cost £1.49 but will make about 10 cards!

Tanda Teaser "XTRA SPECIAL"

For this challenge I have made a birthday card for my extra special Aunty who will be having a birthday next week. yet another new stamp used which I am sure I am going to have lots of fun with.

Rainbow Lady challenge # 9 "beads"

Well it has been ages since I put anything on my blog or entered a challenge, I have had a real hectic time just lately with family issues and visitors....still with fingers crossed I am getting back to some normality!

For this challenge I have opted for a birth congratulations card and used a new rubber stamp, stamped onto assorted papers, cut out and put together like a jigsaw. A few beads, piece of ribbon and a button finished it off

Thursday 3 April 2008

Finally One to Share.

I have done this final card for my Mum who is really down at the moment.....I hope this ted will do the trick in brightening her day!

I stamped him directly onto some hand made paper I had lying around and I was quite pleased with the result.

Wednesday Stamper Challenge "Trees"

For this challenge I have used a favourite stamp depicting an owl in a tree. I have stamped the image directly on to a piece of cork with black ink and used some green pen on the leaves, I cut this square and mounted several times. I then stamped the image onto a browny/beige paper and cut only the owl out which I then adhered in place.

My Time To Craft Challenge "Furry Friends"

Friendship doesn't get much closer than marriage so I have used a Teddy bride & groom stamp for this challenge.

Tanda Teaser "Word Play"

Yet another great challenge, ironically I done a card with a purrrfect sentiment only yesterday so for this I decided on a simply play on word meanings!

Wednesday 2 April 2008

Daring Cardmakers Challenge "Pretty Pastels"

I decided on a note card for this challenge, I made some backing paper using chalk pads, rubber stamps and glimmer mist. I then prepared the card blank, stamped the message on to a piece of spare backing paper, punched out using a large oval cutter and mounted using foam pads. The finishing touches were several coloured butterfly peel-offs and a couple of dragon fly brads.

Arty Girlz Challenge 28 "Triangles"

This challenge gave me the ideal opportunity to use some triangular card blanks I have had in a drawer for ages. I have kept it fairly simple once again.

C.P.S. # 58 Sketch Challenge

A very simply layout for this sketch but really effective.

Sadly it did not scan too well, but it looks good, take my word for it!

Papertake Weekly Challenge "Making Waves"

Think waves think fish!

Well I do anyway and so here is my take for this challenge.

ISMAKI challenge sketch 13.

This was a fun sketch which I enjoyed making very much.

Yet again I have used this un~mounted rubber stamp as it is so versatile and seems to appeal to old and young alike!
