Blog Candy....

Jacqueline has left a lovely comment on my ismaki sketch this week and also informs me that she has blog candy on offer over at :-
Looks good to me!

Tanda Stamps Teaser "Canine Capers"

How typical, out of all the rubber stamps I have I only have one dog stamp and I have already used him today, of well he's earning his shelf-space. Here is my take for the Tanda Teaser this week!

Ismaki # 25 Sketch.

This was a busy sketch to do but I am so pleased with the finished result!

I have prepared the card blank with a sponge assorted adirondak inks and a rubber stamp, I then cut various size circles from blue paper which I then sponged and stamped, Finally I rubber stamped a rectangle with a mermaid stamp and sponged the edge.

Papertake Weekly Challenge "Katharina's sketch#5"

Great yet another sketch, for this one I have used cuttlebug embossing folders , purple paper and a flower rubber stamp, stamped using adirondak inks and embossing powders.

Artygirlz weekly challenge 40 "Nature"

This challenge made me stop and think, after rummaging through all my rubber stamps I found very little to do with nature, so I have just used what I had!

My Time To Craft Challenge "Circles"

For this challenge I have used circles of rose papers and added a rose stamped circle top the front. A tied ribbon and little pearl brad finish.

C.P.S.Sketch Challenge 70

I always enjoy sketch challenges and this one was no exception, it has not scanned very well but I think you can get the general idea!

Daring Cardmakers Challenge "Just a quick one"

This was a really quick one as I just chucked it all together from previously prepared stamped images.

Stamp Addicts "The Purple Zone" 1st challenge

Well I had to have a go at this new challenge. The theme is purple obviously and here is my take on it.

Tilda & Co Challenge "We gone Dotty"

Well I have had quite a productive day. 1st up was the dotty challenge from Tilda & co.

Simply done by using dotty paper for background and flowers and a dotty dress of course!

CPS 69 Sketch Challenge

I really enjoyed the simplicity of this sketch and am really happy with the result.

Cute Card Thursday & Di Hickman Sketch Challenges

I spent a lot of time on this card, initially it was just going to be for the Di Hickman sketch challenge, but at the finish I felt that although it had taken a lot of work it was all backing papers and brads so I decided to combine the challenges and add a little rubber stamped Tilda image so that it would fit the Cute Card Thursday challenge too.

Double Whammy & just right for my sisters birthday!

Tanda Teaser "Tanda in the background "

I thought I had better do a masculine card to even things up so I chose my transport stamps from Tanda for this challenge. I prepare the card blank with adirondak inks and a sponge, I then stamped images directly onto the card blank. Finally I stamped the train image onto a square of brown paper and mounted.

Artygirlz Challenge 39 "A Hint of Pink"

I have tried to get a subtle effect with this card, I have had this rubber stamp for some time and this is the 1st time I have used it, still not sure if I like it or not but think the backing papers carry quite well.

My Time To Craft Challenge "Buttons n' Buckles"

Gone for a feminine card for this challenge .

Papertake Weekly Challenge "feelin hot hot hot"

I have done a fun card for this challenge, which I am going to send to my big brother!

The red pepper character is a plush toy thing which was given to me by my future daughter-in-law who saw it and said it reminded her of me, ( you press the button on his foot and he sings feelin hot hot hot and shakes his whatsits)....Any way I took a photo of him printed it off cut it out embossed it and placed it on the prepared card blank, ( prepared using adirondak inks and a sun rubber stamp). The reason I am going to send it to my big brother is because he was stupid enough to try to burn hedge trimming with the help of petrol and succeeded in setting light to himself, After diving into his garden pond to put himself out he was taken to hospital and is now having an extended holiday while going to and fro to have dressing changed etc.........

What a plonka!

Ismaki Challenge Sketch 24 " Popup"

Not too good at doing pop-up cards but I have given this challenge a go.

Rainbow Lady's challenge 17 "Board"

I utilised a chunk of board from a box my sons mobile came in. After preparing the card blank with backing paper I rubber stamped, coloured, cut out and embossed the rose image.

I then mounted it all together with some pink ribbon & a peel off.

Tilda & Co Challenge 24 "Serendipity"

Well I am always up for a challenge so here is my take on the serendipity challenge.
I covered the card blank with floral backing papers & then covered it with torn scraps of pink and purple glittered wrapping fabric. Mounted the image onto matching backing papers and finished with a flower made from backing papers.

Theme Thursday Challenge "Fairies"

For this challenge I have used a pretty clipart picture and mounted it on to a card blank prepared with a butterfly backing paper which I have further stamped with assorted cute fairy & butterfly stamps.

Di Hickman card sketch June # 2

For this challenge I went for a wedding card, using various patterned papers and rubber stamps.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge "3 different types of embellishments"

The cute card challenge this week is to use 3 different types of embellishments, I have used a metal baby sign, some blue ribbon and a little metal frame which I didn't like so I glitter embossed it!

Wednesday Stamper Challenge "Sisters"

For my final card today I had a bit of fun with the computer and an old photo of my sister & I, having turned us both into beautiful blooms I used a funky flower backing paper to prepare the card blank, I then rubber stamped and embossed a vase, cut a couple of stems out using a sizzix die and put the whole thing together!

Tanda Teaser "Bear Necessities"

The problem I had with this challenge was deciding on which bear stamp to use.....made my decision in the end and here it is!

CPS 68

Again I have combined doing the challenge sketch with a 21st birthday card I needed. Using b.p's, my cricut machine, rubber stamps & a couple of star brads.

Papertake weekly sketch # 4

I have used this challenge as an opportunity to make a hundredth birthday card for a lady who comes to the shop where I work.

She will be 100 on the 12th July but if you saw her you wouldn't think her a day over 70!

She was tickled pink yesterday because she has just been told that she is going to be a great-great- grandmother, she says she cannot get her head around the fact that her grandson is going to be a grand-dad.

LOL!

Artygirlz Challenge 38 "FACES"

For this challenge I have covered the card blank with backing paper and then made a bookmark as the focal point. Quite pleased with the effect and the fact that it is a useful pressy as well as a card.

Tilda & Co Challenge 23 "SWIRLS"

A friend very kindly loaned me the use of some of her Tilda stamps, so I have stamped up a batch and look forward to being able to do the Tilda & Co challenges in the future. For the swirls challenge I have used a piece of swirly patterned ribbon along with a swirl cuttlebug embossing folder. The finishing touch a paper flower & brad.

What have I let myself in for?

Another one to share, a friend saw the 21st card I made last week and wanted a 50th for her friend, but wanted a "near the knuckle verse inside". I am not too great on verses but came up with this which is my view on different sayings I have heard.

Bev....

Have you heard the saying

"thrifty fifty"?

Well that stems from the fact

that ladies in their fifty's

need to buy less underwear...

They can stop buying

bra's and tuck their

tits into their knickers!

Let me know if you can share some good verses!

Ismaki Sketch Challenge # 23

As always a great sketch challenge from ismaki this week with the options of only 2 or 3 colours.

No inks used this time except to rubber stamp the cat image. Simply used a patterned backing paper along with a plain paper and some ribbon, the finishing touch a coloured peel-off sentiment & a paper flower.

My Time To Craft Challenge "BIRDS"

I have gone for just one bird for this sketch. I needed a masculine card and the person concerned is into both wildlife & music so I thought this rubber stamp appropriate. Simply stamped & embossed and then mounted onto card blank that has been prepared using (you guessed it) adirondack ink pads and a sponge, the finishing touches peel-off strips & corners.

Daringcardmakers challenge "quoted by"

I have again been playing with coloured inks and a sponge, this time I sponged the card blank, rubber stamped the image once directly onto the card blank and a second time onto scrap paper which I cut out roughly to form a mask over the top of the original, I then added more sponged colour to the card front before removing the mask.

Caardvarks challenge "Drink Up"

For this challenge I prepared the card blank and mounting squares with sponged on colour, I then cut the mug using my cricut machine, decorated it with a little rubber stamp & put it all together!

Di Hickman Sketch Challenge June # 1

I have kept this very simple, using a pearly card blank. I covered the bottom section in a patterned paper, the top section I used a tiny little flower stamp randomly, I then put a little spot in the centre of each flower and separated the top & bottom with a pink ribbon. I then used some more pink ribbon and a strip of patterned paper which I rubber stamped with a heart and finished with a coloured peel-off sentiment.

Artygirlz Challenge "Paint"

Well this challenge took me well outside of my comfort zone as I really am no good with a paint brush ( and doesn't it show ) ((LOL)). Any way I tried to paint a watery background with some bull rushes, ( thought I had better explain what it is supposed to be .) Once dried I rubber stamped a little fish directly onto the card blank , I then coloured and cut out the little fishing character before fixing him to the front with a little glue.

Rainbow Lady's Monotone Rainbow Challenge "Red"

My chosen colour this time is red and I have used 3 shades of adirondack reds to sponge onto red card blank and also rectangles of red card, I have then rubber stamped the image and sentiment using mulberry ink, clear embossed the image and coloured the poppies using a red glaze sakura pen. I finished off by sewing it all together with a red embroidery cotton.

Cutecard Thursday Challenge "XMAS"

I am afraid I cheated on this one and have used a card I made last year,,,,,,I just cannot bring myself to think about Christmas let alone hunt out my Christmas stamps stash.....I think this one is quite a cutie though!

One to Share.

Thought I would put on the blog the other card I have made today which is a birthday card for my eldest son, I wont tell you how old he is as it makes me feel ancient!

Wednesday Stamper Challenge "Eyelets"

Well I decided to use a peel-off bodice for this challenge and lace the front, I also needed a 21st birthday card, after quite a bit of playing I have ended up with this, it is a large card A4 folded width wise so I also had to make a box to put it in......Still I am quite pleased with the end result.

C.P.S. CHALLENGE SKETCH # 67

I just could not resist getting the adirondak inks out once again for this challenge, sponging the backing colours directly onto the card blank before adding a ribbon the 3 rectangles ( 2 cuttlebug embossed and 1 rubber stamped and embossed) and a coloured peel-off greeting.

Ismaki Challenge # 22

Another lovely sketch challenge this week from Ismaki with the option of red!

I had great fun with this one sponging shades of red both directly onto the card blank as well as the 3 rectangles.

I rubber stamped corners onto the base card and then rubber stamped and embossed the bird & flowers onto the smallest rectangle.

I then mounted the rectangles onto black card and attached some black ribbon before mounting it all together and finishing off with a black flower with a red stoned brad.

Papertake weekly challenge " To Die For"

I have fallen back on my good old sizzix tools dies for this challenge, Having prepared a card blank with a grey marbled paper I rubber stamped coloured and cut out the little d.i.y. man and the tool frame. I then mounted it all up together and finished with a coloured peel-off.

My Time To Craft Challenge "brads & eyelets"

I opted for paisley brads for this challenge and a gardening theme.

I rubber stamped & embossed the image onto a hand made paper cut out and mounted using the paisley brads onto a paisley cuttlebuged piece of card. I then mounted it all onto a prepared card blank using paisley backing paper.

Tanda Teaser "Initial Reaction"

For this challenge I have kept things fairly simple....No Rubber Stamping.... I took 2 chipboard letters which I coloured and embossed black before putting little diam ante's on. Next I cuttlebug embossed a piece of black card and cut out a happy and a birthday which I mounted onto white card and placed on the prepared card blank with the chipboard letters. The finishing touch a black silk flower with a diamante centre.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge "a facelift for an old friend" & then some

For this challenge I have used my hydrangea stamp but in a different way from how I have used it previously. I stamped it onto a parchment, coloured and then used a stylus to emboss from the reverse, I then mounted it onto white card and then gold board. The other two cards are ones I have just completed, one for a lady who is going to be 80 and the other just playing with techniques and colour.
