Jacks Card !

I have been ordered to share with you all the card I made for Ann to give her hubby for his birthday, Ann sent me some photos of their little pup Jed ( who is adorable) which I turned into a card using my scrapbook factory c.d. Jack was delighted and insisted I put it on my blog......................

Where has the Year gone?

It is simply ages since I have even looked at my blog and suddenly I realise that I have not put a post on for months..... All I can say in my defence is that I have been extremely busy and although I have carried on crafting I just have not found the time to display my work.....Christmas will soon be upon us and I also Have Wedding invites and stationery to do for my son & his fiancee to be sent out in the early new year along with some commissioned golden wedding party invites. I promise to try and share some more work with you all soon and possibly even attempt some challenges.......

Meanwhile I will share this card that I made for my dear friends Ann & Grumpy Jack to welcome their new little pooch Jed! I have made the card from an actual photo of Jed himself which I have printed out and decoupaged.

Just A Couple to Share.

Here are a couple of cards I have made recently that do not fit into a challenge category. I thought I would share them anyway!

Daring Cardmakers Challenge "Supersize Me"

I love large blooms and quite often use them along side decoupage which I think is really effective. This is a special card for a friends 50th.

ISMAKI Sketch Challenge

Not done many challenges again this week but managed this sketch for the Ismaki challenge!

Tanda Teaser Challenge "Yellow & Blue"

Again I have used a rubber stamped image, coloured using sakura pens, cut out and then mounted onto an encaustic backing.

POLLYCRAFT MONDAY CHALLENGE "CARD FOR A CHILD"

I decided on a card for a little girl for this challenge, keeping fairly simple with a coloured rubber stamped image, sponging and a couple of large peel-offs.

Daring Card Makers Challenge "Games & Toys for Boys"

Well once again I have used one of the "remember when" sets and good old "footy", I still do not see what the fascination with the game is but the old man is sat mesmerised at this minute.....

Gives me some peace (apart from when he makes me jump out of my skin by shouting "GET IN THERE!") without any warning LOL.

My Time To Craft Challenge "Metallica"

For this challenge I have gone back to the simplicity of a peel off and some metallic glitter board.

Dutch Dare "FAVOURITE THINGS"

This was a nice challenge to use your favourite things, gosh it is really hard to decide what is favourite at the moment, it changes daily......but I really do like anything fairy-ish, glittery, shimmering wings, mythical and magical. I think this card sums it all up and I really enjoyed making it!

House Mouse & Friends Challenge "SPRINGTIME"

The sun shinning has certainly let us know that Spring has arrived and all the little critters are busy, busy, busy.

These 3 little mice are certain proof of that!

Cuttlebug Challenge "2 folders & Nature"

I was pleased with the end result of this card the flower is attached to a tag which has what I think is a real earthy feel to it!

PollyCraft Monday Challenge "ORANGE"

I have to admit I am not thrilled with the end result of this card, it seemed like a good idea at the time but somehow orange just isn't right for it, still good and bad as always.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge "Floral Fantasy"

I have again used decoupage flowers for this challenge, I came across these decoupage sheets in the pannier market in Barnstaple and just could not resist them. I felt these had a slightly oriental feel to them.

Rainbow Lady Challenge "TRANSPORT"

I do not know how many of you have come across these decoupage set called "Remember When", but they make a simply fantastic masculine card. They are time consuming to make and fairly expensive to buy (£4.99) for 3 sets but I think they are worth it for a special birthday or occasion. Any way I have made this one and thought it fitted the bill for this challenge, so here it is!

I'm Back Again.....

Hi everybody, have you missed me? cos I've missed you!
Been pretty hectic of late and had little time for crafting, I have made a few cards but just have not had the time for the challenges, anyway I have had a day off today and done nothing but craft and I have managed several of the challenges. I hope to be able to find more time in the future ( fingers crossed).......Meanwhile on with the challenges

Thursday, 2 April 2009

I might get around to some more cards later, meanwhile here is one to share:-

ISMAKI Sketch Challenge

Another lovely sketch to follow for the Ismaki challenge, and I decided to go for another manly card!

Tanda Teaser "Vellum"

The challenge for the Tanda Teaser was to use vellum somewhere on your card, I am not over keen on vellum although I do love to make vellum flowers, I always feel they have a very delicate look as if the petals would flutter in the breeze so for this challenge I have made some vellum flowers along with butterflies and a vellum embossed script.

Another Easter Card

The last card for today is another simple Easter card!

CPS challenge 108 "sketch"

I was really pleased with this simple Easter sketch.

Papertake Weekly Challenge "Dawnys Sketch"

I needed to make a couple of Easter cards so have used a couple of challenges for this purpose, this sketch being one of them.

My Time To Craft Challenge "its raining men"

For this challenge I have fallen back on my good old "Handy Andy" stamp, I have stamped, coloured and cut him out and simply mounted him on a card blank with a peel off!

Housemouse & Friends Challenge "Shaped Card"

For this challenge I have used my large sixxiz parchment die to cut a small card and then embossed the front using a cuttlebug folder. I have scanned it with a green card behind so that you can see the shape!

Cuttlebug Meets Cupcake Challenge

This challenge called for a cupcake to be iced and I have had a go, but I'd sooner have a rock bun!

Pollycraft Challenge 11 "Lynseys sketch"

I have tried to get myself a little caught up this week and have managed a few more challenges.

The 1st being a sketch for the Pollycraft challenge.

I have a few of their rubber stamps but this little character is one of my favourites!

Rainbow Lady Challenge "Birthday"

I hope you have a very
Happy Birthday Cynthia.....
Meanwhile here is a card for your challenge,

I am afraid it is a little masculine but hey ho!

Cuttlebug be inspired challenge "cuttlebug & punches"

The challenge was to make something using punched shapes and cuttlebug embossing folders.
I have made a simple flower card using heart punches, cuttlebug embossed and then glittered (as in Spikes demonstration from a couple of weeks ago) I also used a couple of butterfly punches and some punched leaves.

Tanda Teaser "MUM"

I cannot believe two weeks have escaped me from blogging and crafting, family ties have a lot to answer for!
Any way I have made a bit of an effort today and managed a couple of challenges, the first being the Tanda Teaser and yep here is the card I have made for my Mum for Mothering Sunday.

Cuttlebug Challenge "sprinkle the sparkles"

After reading the "sprinkle the sparkles" item over on the cuttle bug blog I decided to have a play, that blooming glitter gets everywhere! Any way I have made a couple of card using this technique and thought I would share them!

Rainbow Lady Challenge "People card"

Firstly I must say a big thank you to Cynthia as I won the scene card challenge last week, I really am looking forward to receiving my prize....
onto this weeks challenge "PEOPLE"
I decided to do a card for the most important person of all!

Daring Cardmakers Challenge "Fish or Frog"

I have been asked to make a card with a dolphin on, I do not own a dolphin stamp so used a clip art image. Coloured embossed and cut out.

Arty Girlz Challenge "Butterflies"

Again I have been experimenting, this time I coloured the butterfly image using sakura glitter pens, I then covered the whole image with versifine and embossed. The finished effect is simply fantastic, sadly this has not shown up brilliantly in the photo, but give it a go!

My Time To Craft Challenge "Becky's Sketch No2"

I have tried something a little different with this challenge, I rubber stamped my image onto some thick textured mount board using cats eye chalk, I then mixed some of the same colour chalk with water and coloured some of the image. Not sure about the end result but certainly different!

House Mouse & Friends Challenge "Mothers day"

Here is the card I have done for the House Mouse & Friends "Mothers day card" challenge. Using patterned papers and fabric flowers along with ribbon and a mouse!

Cuttlebug "Sketch" Challenge

I decided that I have done far too many feminine cards of late so this I have gone for a masculine card for this sketch!

Tanda Teaser "A bird in the hand"

I decided on complicated simple for this challenge, a simple layout with a complicated image......I have used a sponge along with chalks, masks and glimmer mist to form a backing before stamping my owl image using black stazon. Then simple mounting.

High Hopes Challenge "Sponging"

Sponging back grounds is something I do quite frequently. I really like the effects that can be accomplished!

Finally to Share!

Well I did not get as many challenges done as I was hoping so next time will have to do....meanwhile I just wanted to share this last card which I am simple delighted with....So simply made using a duflex decoupage fairie poppet and a couple of large flower doodles.

Cuttlebug Challenge "Emboss Acetate"

Sadly this card has not photographed brilliantly but I think you can get the general idea!

Rainbow Lady challenge "scenes""Where's the nearest tree?"

The challenge is too make a card with a scene. I am not fortunate to have one of these helping hands c.d's everybody is so enthusiastic about so I decided to create my own scene using a photo taken on a day out in Warwick shire. I have added and coloured an image from a "girl about town" download. The challenge also calls for you to give your scene a title and my title is going to be "Where's the nearest tree?".

Tanda Teaser "Tiptoe through the tulips"

I decided to use this challenge to make an anniversary card for my son & his wife. I have used this stamp for two reasons, firstly because it is cute and secondly because its the only stamp with tulips I have LOL!

Pollycraft Challenge "think pink"

I simply adore this little stamp from pollycraft and think pink seems to suit her so here we have it!

High Hopes "Hoppy Easter" plus Cuttlebug "Mellow Yellow"

A little bit of cheating here as I have combined a card to fit two challenges. A nice bright cheerful Easter card for High Hopes....& the Cuttle bug challenge for mellow Yellow....Yellow makes me smile!

Shipping order for "Grumpy Jack & Ann"

I needed to make several elaborate cards for my friends Jack & Ann yesterday, needless to say I have once again fallen behind with my challenges. Any way I will share the cards I have made for Jack & Ann with you and will then concentrate on the challenges!
